Beach Basket Cleanup Program Launch

Notice is hereby given that the City of Neptune Beach and Mayor Elaine Brown will officially launch a new “Beach Basket Cleanup Program” at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2022, at the Oleander Street Beach Access.

The goal of the initiative is to provide beachgoers with an opportunity to easily collect litter by taking a basket from designated beach entrances and filling it up with trash found on the beach or debris washed up from the ocean. On the way back from the beach, participants empty the trash into the proper bin and return the basket to the rack. For the program kickoff, Beach Baskets will be available at Walnut Street, Florida Boulevard, and Oleander Street.
