Our City's stormwater collection system comprising of inlets, culvers, storm sewers, ponds, and ditches that drain directly to Hopkins Creek and the Intraoastal Waterway (ICWW). It does not go to a treatment plant. Pollution can come from our homes, garbage, yards, and streets. Substances such as oil, litter, chemicals, detergents, paints, pesticides, fertilizers, pet waste, lawn clippings, yard waste, mulch, wash water residues and erosion can pollute our waterways. When it rains these substances wash into our stormwater collection systems and into our waterways.
